About Lumi Leaves Art

I’m Ben, the artist behind Lumi Leaves. I work with real botanical leaves – collecting, preserving, and engraving them. Each piece begins outdoors and ends as a one-of-a-kind work of art, shaped by the natural form of the leaf itself.
Lumi Leaves is both an art practice and an ongoing exploration of nature, time, and care.
Background: How it all began

Lumi Leaves started from a simple habit: collecting fallen leaves during walks and noticing how much character and detail each one holds. What began as curiosity slowly turned into a practice – learning how to preserve leaves, experiment with engraving, and allow the natural structure of each leaf to guide the design.
Over time, this evolved into a body of work focused on honoring what’s usually temporary and overlooked.
Giving Back

Giving back is an important part of Lumi Leaves. Whenever possible, I collaborate with local organizations, community spaces, and environmental groups through donations, partnerships, and shared projects.
The goal is to support the same natural spaces that inspire the work and to keep art, nature, and community connected.
Leaf Art Process
Each piece follows a careful, hands-on process:
• Leaves are collected and dried
• Preserved to maintain structure and detail
• Individually engraved
• Finished and prepared as a lasting art piece
The process takes time, patience, and experimentation – allowing fragile materials to become something enduring.
